Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM)

The ACM focuses on the history and artefacts of Singapore's major cultural groups, namely from China, Southeast Asia, South Asia and West Asia. Located in a stunning central location on the Singapore River.

Chinatown

Singapore's Chinatown is great for a stroll to admire the colourfully restored shop houses. Besides shopping for Chinese styled gifts and antiques, the area is also home to a significant Muslim area, including several mosques.

Esplanade – Theatres On The Bay

Singapore's new cultural hub opened in 2002. The stunning complex is home to a 1,600-seat concert hall and a 2,000-seat theatre. See website for up-coming events listings at "the Durian". Alongside the complex is a quite large outdoor food centre.

Jurong BirdPark

With more than 9,000 birds covering 600 species, Jurong BirdPark is one of the best places in the world to view birds in a near natural environment.

Kampong Glam (Arab Street)

Explore Kampong Glam for its old shop houses and traditional wares. Sultan Mosque (Masjid Sultan) is a stunning landmark in the area (Muscat Street).

Little India

Little India is a hub for Indian food, spices and shops in Singapore. Serangoon Road runs through the centre of Little India and is the best place to start exploring.

Merlion Park

Merlion Park is the new home of the original 8.6m Merlion statue, designed as a city emblem by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in 1964. The Park makes for a great place to get a photo of the city's symbol with the skyline in the background.

Mint Museum of Toys

The museum houses an interesting collection of toys (around 50,000) from Japan, China, USA and more than 20 other countries spanning a period of over 100 years.

National Museum of Singapore

Devoted to the cultural history of Singapore and located in a beautifully renovated building next to Fort Canning Park.

Night Safari

Don't be discouraged by the distance to this location, the world's first night safari gives a glimpse into the evening lives of many of the zoo's inhabitants. The Zoo also features more than 1000 nocturnal animals as well as a Fragrant Walk scented trail.

Peranakan Museum

The Peranakan Museum is dedicated to presenting Peranakan artefacts and culture, with galleries divided into Origins, Wedding, Nonya, Religion, Public Life and Food and Feasting.

Raffles Hotel

The Raffles Hotel, which opened in 1887, symbolises luxury in Singapore. The hotel Arcade features exclusive fashion, art, antique and jewellery shops. The famous Singapore Sling was created at the Raffles Hotel in the early 1900s.

Sands SkyPark Observation Deck

From 200m up SkyPark Observation Deck offers views of Central Business District, Padang, Merlion, Esplanade - Theatres On The Bay, Little India, Sentosa and more. The SkyPark itself is a deck that sits atop three 55 floor buildings facing Marina Bay.

Sentosa

Sentosa is part resort and part theme park. The island features numerous themed attractions, nature walks and places to eat. Sentosa is also home to the upmarket Sentosa Cove residential community. Attractions include Imbiah Lookout (Tiger Sky Tower - 131 metres above sea level, Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom - 1,500 butterflies, CineBlast - a cinmea simulation ride and Sentosa 4D Magix), Underwater World Singapore and several beaches (Siloso Beach, Palawan Beach and Tanjong Beach).

Singapore Art Museum (SAM)

The museum houses a large collection of Singaporean and Southeast Asian art works, as well as numerous other regional exhibitions. The museum occupies the buildings of a restored 19th century mission school.

Singapore Botanic Gardens and National Orchid Garden

The gardens feature a large tropical plant collection, rainforest area and the attractive palm valley. The gardens also have an educational children's garden and playground. The highly renowned National Orchid Garden have stunning displays and cover a large area (requires paid admission).

Singapore Flyer

The world's largest observation wheel (165m high) offers great views of the Singapore skyline and Marina Bay. Singapore Flyer also has numerous restaurants and dining options.

Singapore Zoo

Well landscaped and set amongst spacious gardens, Singapore Zoo Singapore Zoo has a lot to see and do. You can have a jungle breakfast with the orang-utans and cotton top tamarins, explore the Elephants of Asia exhibition, or watch animal feedings at various times throughout the day. The zoo has great rides and play areas for kids.
