Acland Street
Famous for its cakes, Acland Street is a popular cafe street right in the heart of St Kilda.
Bridge Road, Richmond
Bridge Road is best known for its wide range of outlet shops. Clothing shops are concentrated along the western (city) end, while restaurants and bars are scattered along most of the road. The Gleadell Street Market is held just off Bridge Road on Saturday mornings (7am - 1pm).
Chapel Street
Fashion and food are what make Chapel Street popular. The main shopping area runs for more than 1.5km through the suburbs of South Yarra (boutiques and upscale restaurants) and Prahran (a little more down market, full of shops, cafes and restaurants). Also in the area: Greville Street and Prahran Market.

Dine on the restaurant tram while travelling through Melbourne's attractive inner city. A unique experience. Lunch and dinner options area available.
Fitzroy
Fitzroy offers a delicious slice of urban Melbourne, each major thoroughfare with its own identity. Johnston St is the hub for Melbourne's Spanish and Latin American cuisine. Brunswick St is more quirky with galleries, shops, cafes and a mixture of cuisines. Smith St is a little rougher around the edges, but has a diverse range of eateries. The Rose Street Artists' Market is worth a visit on Saturdays.
Greek Precinct
Covering just a small area, Melbourne's Greek Precinct is home to several Greek restaurants, cafes and shops selling delicious cakes and sweets.
Greville Street
One of Melbourne's trendy cafe, dining and eclectic shopping streets. Located just off Chapel Street, Prahran.
Lygon Street
Melbourne's original Italian precinct is home to lots of cafes, bars, restaurants, pizza and gelato. Other cuisines, especially various Asian restaurants, are also present.
Melbourne Chinatown
The eastern end of Little Bourke Street, surrounding lanes, as well as parts of Russell Street are home to a broad range of Chinese and other Asian restaurants. Visit for yumcha, Sichuan or Cantonese food, other Asian cuisines, as well as Asian groceries and other shops.
QV
Shop for popular and upmarket fashion labels and bodycare stores. For food and drink there is a huge food court as well as Three Degrees Bar and Brewery, Max Brenner for chocolate, Wagamama and other local fast food outlets. Also located here: a large Safeway (Woolworths) supermarket and Big W discount store in the basement, and Strike bowling alley and bar.
Southbank
Victoria St, Richmond
The retail heart of Richmond's Vietnamese community, there are lots of cheap eats, as well Asian groceries and supermarkets. Just a short tram ride from the city.
