Nanluoguxiang
The narrow, tree lined street is home to cafes, restaurants and independent stores selling interesting art products.
Panjiayuan Market
This large open air market (around 3,000 stalls) is popular for its antiques (new and fake), as well as traditional arts and crafts.
Qianmen Street
Located just south of Tiananmen Square, Qianmen (Front Gate) Street is a recreation of a Beijing commercial district of times gone by, complete with period architecture and a tram running the full length of the street. The street is home to numerous restaurants (Quanjude Beijing duck), fast food outlets, cafes (Starbucks) and boutiques. Many of the lanes behind Qianmen remain untouched and can be explored for their mix of residential use and local eateries.
Sanlitun
Sanlitun is one of Beijing's most popular expat bar districts. The area, particularly the colourful Sanlitun Village, is also a home to numerous international food shops, groceries and fashion stores. Also nearby is Ya Show Market where you can shop for counterfeit accessories and fashion.
Wangfujing
Wangfujing is the longest and busiest shopping street in Beijing. Wangfujing is predominantly lined with large shopping malls, including The Malls at Oriental Plaza, Intime LOTTE, and cover everything from mega food courts and local brand outlets to international fashion boutiques. Also located at the southern end of Wangfujing is the Wangfujing Night Market (for both local souvenirs and bizarre snacks).
Xidan
North Xidan Street in Xidan is home to some of the largest shopping malls in Beijing and Xidan is the second largest shopping district in Beijing after Wangfujing.
Ya Show Market
A whole mall where you can shop for fake fashion accessories. Most staff speak English, but starting prices are targeted at foreign tourists so make sure you bargain hard. Located in Sanlitun area.
